WITH MAC’S STRONG FOCUS ON SOCIAL MEDIA & CONSUMER ENGAGEMENT, THE TEAM REQUIRES A SOCIAL MEDIA ASSISTANT TO ASSIST DRIVING OUR SOCIAL PLATFORM GROWTH AND ENHANCING OUR BRAND VOICE TO CONSUMERS ACROSS MAC’S ONLINE SOCIAL COMMUNITIES.

THE ROLE WILL BE FOCUSED ON PUBLISHING, MONITORING, MODERATING AND EVALUATING THE UK/IRISH CONTENT, SUPPORTING THE SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER WITH THE CONTENT MARKETING STRATEGY FOR THE BRAND. THE ULTIMATE GOAL IS TO OFFER A HIGH TOUCH SERVICE TO CONSUMERS ACROSS MAC’S ONLINE PLATFORMS ALONGSIDE EXECUTING CONSUMER ENGAGEMENT STRATEGIES ACROSS THE BRAND THAT DRIVE COMMUNITY, COMMERCE & BRAND ADVOCACY.

THE POSITION WILL BE BASED AT THE UK HEAD OFFICE IN FITZROVIA, LONDON & WILL REPORT INTO THE SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER, SITTING WITHIN THE CONSUMER ENGAGEMENT TEAM.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT & CUSTOMER SERVICE  

  • USING APPROVED SCRIPTS, FULLY RESPOND TO QUESTIONS/COMMENTS/OTHER ON FACEBOOK FROM UK & EIRE CONSUMERS. 
  • RESPONSES SHOULD BE MADE WITH SPEED & INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT, WITH ASSISTANCE FROM CUSTOMER SERVICES & LEGAL WHERE RELEVANT.
  • IDENTIFY AND ESCALATE POTENTIAL ISSUES / CRISES TO RELEVANT TEAMS.
  • LIAISE WITH GLOBAL COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT TEAM ON UK & IRE LAUNCH DATES.

CONTENT PUBLISHING

  • ASSIST THE SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER TO SCHEDULE AND PUBLISH SOCIAL POSTS, ENSURING THEY ARE ON BRAND AND TIMELY
  • ON A WEEKLY BASIS OR AS REQUIRED SEND THE UK & IRE FACEBOOK EVENTS TO THE GLOBAL TEAM

CONTENT CREATION

  • SUPPORT SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER WITH IDEA GENERATION FOR UK ACTIVITY AND LAUNCHES
  • ASSIST SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGERS WITH INSTAGRAM CONTENT CREATION ATTENDING EVENTS OR SHOOTS AS REQUIRED, WHILE RESPECTING BRAND GUIDELINES AND PRODUCING EXCELLENT, ON BRAND CONTENT AS REQUIRED.
  • SUPPORT SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER ACROSS TWITTER AND INSTAGRAM DURING LFW
  • ASSIST WITH LOCAL SNAPCHAT CONTENT WHEN REQUIRED, GROWING LOCAL FAN ENGAGEMENT ON THE PLATFORM
  • BUILD RELATIONSHIPS WITH INTERNAL TEAMS AND DEVELOP CREATIVE IDEAS AND TECHNIQUES THAT SUPPORT EVENTS AND INITITIAVES THAT CAN ENGAGE CONSUMERS & DEEPEN CONSUMER RELATIONSHIPS
  • ASSIST THE SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER WITH CREATIVE REQUESTS SUBMITTED TO THE GLOBAL TEAM

PAID SOCIAL

  • BUILD A RELATIONSHIP WITH MEDIA AGENCY, RESPONSIBLE FOR SETTING UP SOCIAL MEDIA ADVERTISING, SENDING LINKS AND ASSETS AS AND WHEN REQUIRED
  • WORK WITH THE PROMOTED POST CALENDAR TO ENSURE ALL POSTS ARE TIMELY AND WITHIN BUDGET

SOCIAL MEDIA MONITORING

  • TRACK AND MONITOR SOCIAL MEDIA MENTIONS FROM HIGH PROFILE, INDEPENDENT INDUSTRY CONTACTS
  • CONTRIBUTE TO THE MONTHLY COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS REPORT FOCUSING ON BRANDS DEMONSTRATING BEST PRACTICE WITHIN SOCIAL MEDIA, INCLUDING MAC’S KEY COMPETITORS AND BRANDS OUTSIDE OF THE BEAUTY INDUSTRY
  • IDENTIFY ISSUES, PATTERNS & TRENDS IN CONSUMER COMMENTS & SHARE INFORMATION WITH THE BRAND AS RELEVANT E.G. PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT IDEAS, DISTRIBUTION ENQUIRIES, TRENDING TOPICS/CONCERNS/SENSITIVITIES, USER GENERATED CONTENT ETC.

ANALYSIS & REPORTING 

  • WORK WITH MEDIA AGENCY TO PRODUCE A SOCIAL MEDIA REPORT ON A WEEKLY AND MONTHLY BASIS, ADDING INSIGHTS AND ACTIONS
  • INPUT INTO THE MARKETING DASHBOARD AND BI-ANNUAL RECAPS
  • RECORD ANY UK & IRELAND ARTIST COVERAGE/UGC FROM GLOBAL SOCIAL MEDIA CHANNELS
  • RECORD ALL UK & IRELAND INSTAGRAM & FACEBOOK POST PERFORMANCE INTO DASHBOARD

SENIOR ARTISTS

  • PROVIDE SENIOR ARTISTS WITH A LIST OF PRODUCT LAUNCH DATES
  • SUPPORT SENIOR ARTISTS AS AND WHEN REQUIREDFOR CONTENT CREATION

ADVERTISING

  • SUPPORT THE CONSUMER MARKETING MANAGER ON ADVERTISING CAMPAIGNS AS REQUIRED

YOUTUBE & VIDEO

  • ASSIST SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER IN COORDINATING BI-ANNUAL HOW TO SHOOT ALIGNING ALL DEPARTMENTS AND COORDINATING DOCUMENT FOR NY
  • WORK WITH CONSUMER MARKETING MANAGER & PERISCOPIX TO TEST, REFINE & DEVELOP AN ALWAYS ON APPROACH TO DRIVING SUBSCIRBERS & TRAFFIC (VIA DISPLAY) & VIEWS (VIA IN-STREAM & IN-SEARCH) OF MAC’S VIDEOS

RETAILER MARKETING PARTNER

  • ENSURE RETAIL PARTNERS LEVERAGE THE SOCIAL ASSETS MADE AVAILABLE TO THEM IN THE MOST APPROPRIATE WAY & IN HARMONY WITH THE MAC BRAND MARKETING CALENDAR
  • ALIGN WITH RETAILER STRATEGIES TO CREATE A CALENDAR OF SOCIAL ACTIVITY
  • SEND SAMPLES AND IMAGES TO RETAILERS AS AND WHEN REQUIRED
  • RECORD ANY RETAILER SOCIAL COVERAGE

BUDGET MANAGEMENT

  • ADVERTISING BUDGET MAINTENANCE AS REQUIRED: ALL POS TO BE RAISED BEFORE ACTIVITY COMMENCES & ALL SPEND TO BE ALIGNED WITH BUDGET AND OVER & UNDERSPENDS AGREED WITH MANAGER

GLOBAL RELATIONSHIPS

  • DEVELOP STRONG WORKING RELATIONSHIPS WITH GLOBAL NEW MEDIA & ADVERTISING TEAM

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL:

  • BE HIGHLY ENGAGED WITH SOCIAL MEDIA ON A DAILY BASIS AND PASSIONATE ABOUT STAYING AHEAD OF THE GAME WITH REGARDS TO SOCIAL MEDIA.
  • HAVE EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH A CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND SOCIAL MEDIA ANALYTICS TOOLS (EXPION EXPERIENCE IDEAL).
  • HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH CUSTOMER SERVICES OR EXPERIENCE IN A SERVICE INDUSTRY.
  • THRIVE IN A FAST PACED ENVIRONMENT, ABLE TO JUGGLE MULTIPLE PROJECTS AND WORK TO TIGHT DEADLINES WHILST MAINTAINING A SUPERB EYE FOR DETAIL.
  • HAVE EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION SKILLS, BOTH VERBAL AND WRITTEN AND SPECIFICALLY HAVE A HIGH LEVEL OF GRAMMATICAL ACCURACY WITH WRITTEN COMMUNICATION.
  • BE ABLE TO DEMONSTRATE EXCELLENT COMPUTER SKILLS (MICROSOFT OUTLOOK, WORD, EXCEL AND POWERPOINT ALL ESSENTIAL)
  • BE EDUCATED TO DEGREE LEVEL OR ABOVE.
  • HAVE AT LEAST 1-2 YEARS RELEVANT EXPERIENCE.
